At the end of last month, Huawei announced that the Huawei P30 / P30 Pro will receive the all-new EMUI 9.1, which brings several improvements to the interface in particular, adding 7 models that have already begun to take the closed beta of this release and these are:

  • Huawei Mate RS Porsche Design,
  • Huawei P20,
  • Huawei P20 Pro,
  • Honor 10,
  • Honor V10,
  • Honor Play
  • Nova 3
  • Mate 20 series

The newer version of the user interface now has updated wallpapers, themes and icons that will surely change the way we have seen the operating system so far. It also supports the micro-real design (according to Huawei) which brings a more natural flow to the menu movement, while the number of horizontal icons has dropped to 4 out of 5, the visual effects improved and the chance of random stroke dropped significantly.

The new EMUI 9.1 now supports the EROFS file system, which allows for greater fluidity and saves space on the device, while compatibility with GPU Turbo 3.0 is expected to deliver high performance with lower power consumption. Finally, Huawei claims that the operating experience has been upgraded since more features have been added and several improvements have been made.

Users of the above models can upgrade their phone to EMUI 9.1 by going to Settings and clicking About> System Update> Upgrade when the Stable version of EMUI 9.1 is available.
