Appleinsider has tested the two devices in well-known benchmark apps to see what is the best smartphone with the results of this battle being impressive.

On the one hand, we have the OnePlus 6 on the 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage and the Snapdragon 845 at 569 euros, and on the other hand the iPhone X with 3GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage space and the A11 Bionic at 1200 euros . We have essentially two smartphones that are different in price since basically more than two OnePlus 6 are able to buy an iPhone X, while their technical features are those of the 2018 flagship.

On the benchmark and Geekbench 4, the iPhone X earns the OnePlus 6 on the single-core test at 4283 points versus 2468 while in the multi-core test, OnePlus 6 achieves 9099 points versus 10589 on the iPhone X, and is the first time an Android smartphone is approaching so close to an iPhone in that benchmark.

Then the devices were tested at AnTuTu where OnePlus 6 was better with 30% more points, bringing 267,222 versus 208,749 of the iPhone X, which was best in AnTuTu’s HTML 5 test with 37,524 against 34,614 points of OnePlus 6

Continuing on the GFXBench OpenGL Manhattan Offscreen Test at 1080p, the iPhone X delivered 5463 frames while OnePlus 6 rendered 4126 frames.

Finally, in the Octane 2.0 browser benchmark, iPhone X due to the Safari optimizations achieved 33741 points while OnePlus 6 moved to shallow waters with 16725 points.

These figures show how good work has been done in OnePlus 6 which, although sold below half the price of the iPhone X, showed its “teeth” and managed to approach it as close as no other has ever done so, while remarkable is the fact that several apps started to work much faster than the iPhone X, since the user tapped the app icon. Of course the fact that a smartphone went better to the benchmark than another is half the truth as the overall performance of the device and the everyday user experience is what makes a smartphone stand out.
