For several weeks now we know that Redmi will be launching a flagship device with Snapdragon 855. There have been several theories about the name of the smartphone, and yesterday, Luweibing’s general manager, made a publication in Weibo asking for help from users about with the name of the new Redmi.

Today, Lu Weibing announced that the flagship name will be Redmi K20 and according to the K series it will be Redmi’s flagship performance. He added that K in the name of the devices comes from the word “killer“.

Weibing did not give any specific reason for choosing the number beyond the fact that it comes from Redmi’s competition with Huawei. As he said, the company has a lot to learn from Huawei’s approach to marketing.

According to sources, the Redmi K20 will feature a FHD + AMOLED 6.39-inch screen with in-display fingerprint sensor and Corning Gorilla Glass 6. The selfie camera will be pop-up and will be at 20MP. On the back side, the Redmi K20 will feature three cameras, the main one being 48MP, a 8MP wide angle lens and a 16MP telephoto lens.

The top feature of the Redmi K20 is the Snapdragon 855. As far as the other features of the device are concerned, we only know that it will have a 4.000mAh battery and will support a fast 27W charging.

The Redmi K20 will be released as POCO F2 in some areas, but for now nothing is certain. Finally, the smartphone will be available in three colors: Carbon Black, Glacier Blue and Flame Red.
